The primary focus of our 2012 season is to grow produce, in our field and in our greenhouse, for our CSA members, for local Farmers Markets and for our on-site Farm Stand. We will also begin growing and developing some specialty items for Chicago-based and local chefs.
Our CSA will be offering 100 shares, at $30 per week, for a 20 week growing season, beginning in June. Each week our CSA members will receive 3/4 to 1 bushel of fresh produce from the farm. We will have 2 pick up days per week, at the farm. Depending on demand, we may have some off-site pick up locations as well. Produce will be fresh-picked the night before or the morning of the pick-up day. Depending on what is ready that week, our members can expect fresh herbs, greens, and an assortment such as carrots, peppers, heirloom tomatoes, broccoli, asparagus, sugar-snap peas, strawberries, sweet corn etc. We will use our listing on Local Harvest to manage our orders, payment, pick up times etc. Our customers will also have the option of buying fresh eggs from our free-range chickens.
